1. The Everglades National Park is a fascinating ecosystem. It is a flooded wetland stretching down to the mangrove islands in the south and is home to 14 endangered species of animals, including the West Indian Manatee, the American Crocodile and the Florida Panther. The Everglades have always been a popular location for film shoots and stories often revolve around the crocodiles that are found here.
2. The opportunity to explore Biscayne Bay is unparalleled. To race across the turquoise blue waters in a boat, under the brilliant blue sky, is an exhilarating experience.
3. The bustling South Beach is a must for all travellers, with its celebrities and jet setters out on the town. This beautiful beach is a popular spot for photo shoots and the area has a lot of night clubs and restaurants. This is a fairly high profile location.
4. The Art Deco Historic District is definitely worth visiting. The area has more than 800 Art Deco buildings that have been restored and can be viewed during a walking tour. 5. The Miami MetroZoo is one of the first free range zoos in USA. It has animals from Africa, Asia and Australia who are grouped geographically and have not been caged.
6. The Miami Seaquarium, near Miami Beach is an outdoor aquarium and deserves at least a half day visit.
7. The Miami Children’s Museum offers a wide range of activities using interactive exhibits which let children explore and learn to their hearts content.
8. The is a unique park and a fun place to visit. This is where people walk through wire pathways while monkeys swing freely over head.
9. Miami Beach has innumerable choices to offer in terms of accommodation. There are many hotels and motels for various budgets and resorts along the beach which offer a lot of waterfront activities. There are also vacation homes available for at least six months in a year and suites and hotels for extended stays as well as hostels for travellers on tight budgets.
10. Transport is easily available in and around the Miami Beach area. Beginning with the taxi and shuttle service from the airport, trains are available between Miami and other cities, and buses and hired cars can be arranged locally. However, the most preferred method of getting around seems to be on foot.
